Area businesses donated millions of dollars to a cause last year that someone from inside that group reported $500,000 had been wasted and spent frivolously. All while our area seniors, children, disabled and the mentally ill received little to know attention, and even less in the form of donations from area banks and businesses. Shouldn't the criteria by which these banks and businesses make their determination on where to allocate donations be predicated on the urgency and need? Certainly, no one in our communities need the help more than our seniors, children, disabled and mentally ill. There are tens of thousands upon tens of thousands suffering silently without any hope in their hearts or lives in our community each and every day. They languish alone for days, months and years, no one ever caring about or paying attention to them, simply because they cant speak for themselves, and they have no one advocating for them.
